Hi Everyone!

Back from the AC trip and now on to the Albania trip!! From Sept 3-13 I will be taking 6 people to Albania, all new to the country, for a 9 day trip! During this time our focus will be on Bible Clubs and evangelizing in the villages where Pastor Plator has been ministering. We are planning Bible Clubs for over 200 children, a Women’s Day for 100 women with the theme “Our Identity in Christ and How to Share it” and a Youth Night for 100 youth ranging from 15-25 years old as we break down Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.”

There will also be other small projects that we will be asked to help with, street evangelizing and distributing the Bundles of Blessings food boxes to those in need.

Speaking of Bundles of Blessings…. SOFM gives $1200 a month so that Pastor Plator’s staff and volunteers can distribute monthly non-perishable food to those most in need; the widows and elderly who can not provide for themselves. We are in need of support to finish out our last 1/4 of the year (Oct – Dec) $3600. Vacation Bible Camp

Each summer Pastor Plator & Nicole’s ministry in Albania provides a dynamic, life-changing 5-day bible club for upwards of 450 children from the local villages. Learning about Jesus has changed lives, given hope and put children on the path to love and serve Jesus in this Muslim dominant nation! SOFM has been providing the necessary funding for the transportation, food, scenery and bible lesson materials for these children to experience the love of Jesus. Children who have attend this camp are growing up to attend the Youth Disciple Camp and serve within this growing ministry! Step of Faith desires to support this camp again this year!

Youth Discipleship Camp

Likewise each summer the ministry provides a week long Youth Discipleship for young adults ranging from 15-35 years old. There has been upwards of 75 youth who attend each summer. Many of the youth are already serving in the ministry, some begin volunteering because of this time of discipleship and all grow in their relationship with Jesus and go out and share what they learn from this camp. We have affectionately called them the Albanian Army Ants! They keep growing and keep sharing the love of Jesus! Step of Faith desires to support this camp as well!

With less than 2% evangelical Christians living in Albania… 

SOFM is blessed to be a part of providing the financial support so that Pastor Plator and his staff can continue to teach, disciple and raise up more “workers” for the kingdom of God! Each camp can cost about $5000. This is due to gas, transportation, materials, food ( for the VBS) and all of that plus lodging (for the Youth Camp). Many volunteers come together to plan and prepare to receive all those who will attend. We look to our supporter for prayer for these camps, that the Lord would continue to use them to raise up future leaders to continue sharing the truth of Jesus Christ in this nation. At the beginning of April, elementary students were introduced to the country of Albania during a Friday morning chapel message at Pilgrim Academy. They learned about children in Albania and the work of missionaries-how everyone, everywhere needs to hear about Jesus! God was doing exactly that through Step of Faith Ministry and students got to join in by giving through globe banks.

• During prayer requests time, students raised their hand to ask God to help the kids in “Albania!”
• When a second grade student lost their tooth, she told her teacher she wanted to give her tooth fairy money to “Albania!”
• The kindergarten teacher put a globe bank on her desk and after one student put money that he brought to school for ‘snack shop’ into the globe bank to give to Albania instead, a train of students lined up with their money to follow in giving to “Albania!”
• When third graders learned about state capitals, there was a cheer of excitement at their new favorite world- “Albania!” because of how similar it sounded to New York’s capital of Albany.
• Teachers would share how in every classroom their students asked questions about Albania with curious hearts and gave from joyful hearts. As the month of April ended and the globe banks would soon be collected, it can be trusted that students will remember a big lesson about Albania:

“You are never too young to be used by God!”

May the love that Jesus has for everyone, everywhere go forth through Step of Faith Ministry and grow in young hearts like these!
