Christmas Celebration Near and Far!

Merry Christmas from Step of Faith Ministry!

It takes a village to bring the good news of Jesus to people near and far…. And over the past couple of weeks that very thing has been accomplished! Without the love and support of so many followers of Jesus, through the many churches who have come forward to help, our families and friends in the Brick and Atlantic City would have not seen and experienced the love of Jesus in the ways that they did!

There are so many to thank!

Check out how God connects His people to do His work…

Through the giving of countless beautiful gifts from Life Chapel Church in Point Pleasant, many families who came to the Christmas Store, set up by New City Fellowship of Atlantic City, were able to come and shop for their children, have their gifts wrapped, and go home knowing there would be gifts for their children to open Christmas morning.

Through the love and knitting capabilities of the women of St. Paul’s Methodist Church of Brick, over 60 girls and boys received beautifully made knit hats and scarfs (that will be worn once the winter comes!) and were given as a gift at our Maple Leaf Christmas Party this past weekend.

A second wonderful gift was given through a new friend Michael, author and follower of Jesus, from Life Chapel in Point. He and his wife Heidi donated 32 of his books “How’s It Feel Tough Guy?” to our older kids from Maple Leaf. This book can be a life changer to those who read it and in the new year, Michael plans to come out and share his testimony more.

Another blesseing was to some of our families who would otherwise go without a Christmas tree this Christmas. They have been blessed to receive a tree from St. Paul’s Methodist of Brick and Allaire Community Farm.

This past Friday night many of our Maple Leaf families were invited to Calvary Lighthouse in Lakewood to once again enjoy the Christmas on Silver Pond Play put on by the Agape Faithworks Home school Co-op. What a wonderful evening for families to enjoy together outside of their community!

Then, on Saturday, we celebrated Christmas at the clubhouse in Maple Leaf with over 60 children ranging from 4-17. So many people were part of making this day extra special. The volunteers came from many churches; St. Paul’s Methodist of Brick, Calvary Presbyterian of Wall, Remedy Church of Brick and True Life Church of Brick. A Christmas message was given to each group along with an educational lesson about children at an orphanage in Romania. The children were challenged to give just $1 for 1 pair of socks to be bought for a child there. After Dana shared and invited some to put their hand or foot into an ice bucket, to represent the bitter cold that these children experience each winter in Romania, some children pulled out a dollar right there to give.

A beautiful craft was provided through Josephine and Debra for each group to take home as a gift. Games were played, many goodies consumed and much laughter filled the room! Thank you Jesus!

Thank you for being the ‘village’ the ‘hands and feet of Jesus’, bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to these communities! Thank you, thank you, thank you and have a blessed Christmas!!
