We all go through trials and seasons of difficulties… yet when you are a Haitian, your trials and seasons of difficulties never end. However… when you have Jesus in your heart you can say, “In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path” – Proverbs 3:6
Here are a few very encouraging updates from Aslan’s Director Joseph Israel…
“MY RICE GARDEN” – Joseph recently sent pictures and videos of his “rice garden” that he has been able to start due to the completion of the new water canals coming off of the Mascre river. Joseph never stops believing and discipling others to believe that God is with them and His ways are the best for them. Growing rice in Haiti will help the people of Lac’ajue by not having to buy from the DR. This is a wonderful addition that will only bring blessings to the community.
GRADUATIONS CONTINUE – SOFM continues to support students through college. Chanaelle Louis is the latest graduates who is now a nurse! She has been going to school for many years, volunteering in the Aslan Clinic of Hope, and doing her field work in other parts of Haiti. Chanaelle is a wonderful example of perseverance because she has had to endure many trials while going through college during these past 4 year’s of utter unrest within the country.
On December 16, 2024 Joseph began a new program called Family Home Visits. By January 2025 there has been 98 homes visited in Lac’jue where they found 498 people ranging from new born babies and up. While utilizing the Clinic of Hope staff, and others, they are able to identify those who are sick with a variety of issues ranging from mild to extreme, diagnose and determine the best way of treatment. Because of this, more medication is needed for treating the sick. SOFM has an Emergency Medical Fund that can help as more support is provided.
When I think of Joseph and others in Lac’ajue, I hear the words… “In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path”
We thank God for Joseph and all who continue to be the hands and feet for Jesus in a country that is in so much need.
