Jesus… the Great Mathematician

Have you ever had someone say to you, “Just be patient, it will happen.” Or “Patience, patience, patience.”

Over the course of the last 10 years the Lord has not only desired patience from many of those serving with SOFM, but He has also been duplicating us so that He can send out more of His children to share the Gospel.

Here are some examples…

This is Rebecca. The far left picture is when she was only 8 years old. Knowing that you needed to be 8 to be “a clown” with the Fellowship Chapel Clown & Puppet ministry, the moment she turned 8 she came up to me at church and said, “Ms. Pam, I am 8 now, can I be a clown?” Fourteen years later, now 22, Rebecca is still a clown! Among other ways that she shares her faith, Rebecca has been on trips to Haiti and Atlantic City. This past week Rebecca approached Pastor Santo of New City Fellowship in AC, and myself, with this question, “I have been praying about something for over a year now and especially since this past summer’s trip to AC, I was wondering if it would be ok if I brought my own team down to AC this summer?” She was given a huge YES! from both of us.

Patience & Duplication..

In 2013 we began the Maple Leaf Tutoring Program at the Maple Leaf Apartments. Many churches have come out over the past 5 years to bring love, hope and the Gospel to these kids and their families. This ministry was birthed from the mission trips to AC with New City Fellowship. Last week we brought together our AC folks and our ML volunteers for a night of fellowship, fun, encouragement and prayer. The night was special because it reminded us of how patient God is with us and how it is in His timing that He allows things to grow, take shape, and multiply. Rejoicing over how this past summer 5 of our ML students were a part of our mission team and looking a head to this summer with the hope of bringing more students with us!

Patience & Duplication…

And the last example is our ministry in Haiti. This example is two-fold…

Again, over the past several years the Lord has been working on the hearts of his people to continue to step out in faith and do His will. Here are two examples of that through the lives of Sophia & Tara.

These college students are special. Sophia has been going with us to Haiti since she was 14 and Tara will be returning in 2018 for her third trip. Both continue to pray for the Lord’s leading in their lives as it pertains to missions and specifically Haiti. This summer they are planning to stay in Haiti for 6 weeks and be the first two interns through Aslan Youth Ministry. So exciting to see!

Patience & Duplication…

The final example is with St. Paul’s Methodist Church. St. Paul’s came with us to Haiti 4 years ago and have continued to send their own team each January. Their efforts have helped bring much needed help to our friends & families of Lac’ajue through their partnership with us and Aslan Youth Ministry. This past Sunday was another fundraiser breakfast at their church and their Sunday School children took part in the fundraising by watching the Haiti video from the past trip and making bracelets for the children of Haiti.

If you ever become weary that things aren’t happening in the time line that you think it should… just remember that our Jesus is the best duplicator and that His timing is perfect with ALL things!
