The fall of this year is starting off with many “happenings” that we would like to share…
MAPLE LEAF TUTORING PROGRAM
We began our 7th year of tutoring at the Maple Leaf Apartments in Brick on October 8th. With volunteers from many different local churches joining in, we were greeted with many hugs from the students and countless stories about their summer. Last week we had our Halloween/Bible Club
that captured the attention of the kids as they reached deep into a carved out pumpkin and pulled out a lot yucky, gooey stuff that represented the “sin” in our lives that is
against a holy and perfect God. Then they made their own pumpkin to take home as a reminder that that “they are the light of the world” when they are a child of the living God.

On December 10th the students and volunteers will be blessed when Ted Kenny from Plays on Word https://www.playsonword.org/index.html comes to do a short, but powerful play ‘Christmas Joe’. Plays on Word has been blessing many people from NJ to California over the past year and we are very excited that he will be with us on the 10th! There will be two showings, so if you are in the neighborhood, please come out and join us!

We were also contacted by the St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Brick, who once again want to bless the kids at Christmas with knit hats and Christmas balls full of candy. Their crochet ministry has been blessing our kids for several Christmas’ and we are so thankful that they are doing it again this year!
TRUE LIFE CHURCH CHRISTMAS SHOP
We are helping to get the word out about the Christmas Shop that True Life Church in Brick is doing on December 7th. April (their kids director) has come with SOFM to Atlantic City for the past two years and when she heard about the Christmas Shop that New City Fellowship Church does for the families in AC, April knew she wanted to see it duplicated right here in Brick! Thank you Pastor Santo and staff for yet again planting another “duplicating” seed in our own backyard!
Join True Life Church in helping lower-income Brick residents provide Christmas for their families. The Christmas Shop allows parents to purchase new toys at a greatly reduced price. Rather than receive a handout, they are able to purchase gifts for their families with dignity! The money collected from the gifts on Dec. 7th will go right back into the community during the upcoming year.
