Once a month for the past 5 years the Maple Leaf Clubhouse fills with students ranging from kindergarten through high school; all learning about who Jesus Christ is through their monthly Bible Club. While the rest of the Tuesdays are focused on completing homework and building relationships between students and volunteers, the last Tuesday of the month is focused on building our relationship with Jesus.
The commitment of the Maple Leaf volunteers range from high school students through retired teachers and everybody in-between. Volunteers from St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Calvary Pres and True Life Church, come together to sow seeds of love and hope into the lives of over 30 students each week. Whether the volunteers have been coming out since the beginning or just started this year, everyone comes with their God given talents and uses them to bless the children of Maple Leaf.
This past Tuesday the older students were introduced to “Bible Sword”. With the help of the volunteers, each student had a bible and as Tom explained a particular verse, the students then had to race to find the verse in the bible. Some more competitive than others! It was fun to watch and the kids not only were looking up bible scripture, but they were given time to learn and talk about it. A HUGE thank you to all who made it out!
