After staying at Danita’s Orphanage in Haiti in 2008, I asked Danita what was a need for her (then) 104 children. Without hesitation, she said, “shoes!”. The cost to put shoes on 104 pairs of children’s feet was triple what it costs here in the US. For 18 years Step of Faith has asked our supporters to help with this need and every year we exceed the need! We are starting our 18th new shoe collection this spring! If you attend Calvary Presbyterian Church in Allenwood or St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Brick, you will see this collection at your church. If not, we have 15 shoe tags available outside of these churches. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Pam at: pamhess67@gmail.com
I will be happy to get you a shoe tag or purchase a pair of shoes and navy blue dress socks for you to help provide for the 61 remaining students from Danita’s Orphanage.
The pictures below show two students, one is Lonic. Lonic is a survivor from the earthquake in 2010. Patrick and I had the opportunity to meet him then and again years later. He is all grown up and has been just one of the many students who has received the new shoes each year for school. Thank you for your support and prayers for our friends in Haiti!
