Each summer the students who have graduated to the next grade level in Haiti are blessed to go to the beach for the day! This day is the most special day for all of them! Living in a country that continues to be in extreme turmoil and unrest, a day at the beach for them is like a month at Disney for most children in America. Most students are the first in their family to attend school. This beach day helps to keep them focused throughout the year to do well in school and make the most of their education. The cost for these students to go by bus to a local beach and have a cold drink to go along with the bagged lunch that they bring with them is about $1000. Each year there is about 100 students that go, along with adults who help to watch them in the water and bring them home safely.
