Pastoral & Staff Support

For over 6 years SOFM has been sending pastoral support to Pastor Plator and after providing the support for Geno to go to seminary, support for Pastor Geno as well, so that they both can continue to do the ministry that God has put before them. Four years ago there were 3 churches to oversee and today there are 9! Along with the two pastoral support positions, SOFM also sends support for two others to be able to help with the oversight of another church plant. The Gospel is growing in this part of Albania so is the need to help those financially so that they can commit more time to the ministry.

Albania is not a rich country. Many Albanians (once they are finished with college) will move to another European country where they can make 4 times the amount in salary as they would if they stayed in Albania. However, Pastor Plator is raising up many young, committed Christians (who were once Muslim or atheist) who desire to stay in Albania and serve within the church. These young people are going throughout the week to the 98 villages surrounding Korce, bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to some of the most remote villages that have never heard the name Jesus! While others are overseeing children’s programs, woman’s bible studies, bundles of blessings and helping to grow the current 9 locations.

There are many needs and this A-Team (Albanian Team) are willing to do whatever the Lord is calling them to do.

We are currently looking to support two of the men from the A-Team: Dennis and Mario.

Dennis is Pastor Plator’s right-hand man who does anything that is needed for the ministry on a weekly basis. He oversees the Bundles of Blessings distribution, and is a main person during the distribution of the 5000 Christmas Shoeboxes to the 98 villages surrounding Korce. He is a humble servant that until recently was living in a small home without a heating source, windows or doors. Thankfully our team that went in Sept 2022 and SOFM were able to provide for those needs. We are currently looking to provide a monthly support of $150 for Dennis, so he can take care of his living costs. Without people like Dennis, Pastor Plator and Pastor Geno could not be accomplishing all that they currently are. 

 

Mario is the worship leader for the Libonik Church worship group. He leads worship for all of the churches and is also someone who is always helping Pastor Plator. He goes a head to each church to set up for the next church service, leads worship at all service projects,  and travels with the Bundles of Blessings and Evangelistic Team throughout the year. Mario, like Dennis, lives in very humble means yet you would never know that he is suffering from the lack of basic needs. We are looking to provide a monthly support of $150 for Mario, so he can take care of his living costs. Without people like Dennis, Pastor Plator and Pastor Geno could not be accomplishing all that they currently are.
