Since hurricane Sandy hit the Jersey Shore, Michael Crimi of Starlight Disaster Relief has been camped out in Bricktown feeding thousands and distributing much needed supplies in the name of Jesus Christ. For the first month he was in the PAL parking lot on Drum Point Rd., however this past week he moved his efforts to the parking lot of Fellowship Chapel Church at 170 Duchess Ln / Brick.
Michael has a lot of experience with disaster relief having spent many months in New Orleans after Katrina and Joplin, MO after the tornado.
Semi-trucks arrive weekly from FEMA and the Red Cross full of all kinds of relief supplies… ‘clean up’ kits, non-perishable food, beverages, diapers, new coats and boots, work gloves and so much more. Each day pallets and pallets are being moved around, sorted through, organized and distributed to anyone who is in need.
Michael continues to prepare food each day providing ‘take out’ from 4-6pm for those in need of a hot meal. His hours of operation as far as handing out relief supplies is 9am-7pm.
With all that is taking place here each day, volunteers are needed!
If you are in need of supplies and/or food or know of those who are, please pass this along to them. If you are able to help volunteer a few hours a week, that would be a blessing! Please come by the relief site and see Michael or Lisa and they can ‘put you to work’!
This Thursday there will be another semi-truck coming in the afternoon. Help is needed in the morning to move around pallets and further organize the supplies to make room for the next shipment.
Your prayers and support are appreciated.
Thank you!
Pam
